Dr.Antonio Gil from Spain visited to Aditya Homeopathic Hospital

In the last week of February the Spanish Ministers of Science, Innovation and Universities Pedro Duque and Health, Consumption and Social Welfare María Luisa Carcedo gave a joint press conference to communicate to Spanish society about their Plan for the Protection of Health against Pseudo therapies. A few months ago the Spanish Doctor Antonio Gil Ortega, a member of the Association of Homeopathic Doctors of Andalusia, had the opportunity to visit Aditya Homeopathic Hospital in Pune (India) founded and established by Dr. Amarsinha Nikam and currently has a hundred beds distributed over several floors. Homeopathic hospital with ICU, emergency services and ambulances for 24 hours and non-invasive methods of diagnosis and treatment, according to his own words, impressed by what he saw and lived, how the Homeopathy can cure at a very low cost and about such a unique experience, a brief of the talk with him.

According to Dr. Gil’s experience with Dr. Amarsinha Nikam, Homeopathy is effective even in the treatment of serious diseases, malignant tumors included; from an aggressive grade II tongue cancer with metastasis to rheumatoid arthritis with joint deformation through encephalitis or stroke. Dr. Antonio Gil personally checked it at the Aditya Homeopathic Hospital in Pune (India).

Efficacy of Homeopathy in serious pathologies

Homeopathy is effective even in the treatment of serious diseases, malignant tumors included; from an aggressive grade II tongue cancer with metastasis to rheumatoid arthritis with joint deformation through encephalitis or stroke. So says at least Dr. Antonio Gil who personally checked it at the Aditya Homeopathic Hospital in Pune (India) founded by Dr. Amarsinha Nikam and currently has a hundred beds distributed over several floors. Homeopathic hospital with ICU, emergency services and ambulances for 24 hours and non-invasive methods of diagnosis and treatment.

In the last week of February the Spanish Ministers of Science, Innovation and Universities Pedro Duque and Health, Consumption and Social Welfare María Luisa Carcedo gave a joint press conference to communicate to Spanish society that their Plan for the Protection of Health against Pseudotherapies progressed and that of the 139 therapeutic methods that had identified 73 could be already qualified as "pseudotherapies because after reviewing the publications that collect randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyzes published in Pubmed between 2012 and 2018 - motor of reference search that collects citations and abstracts of biomedical research articles from the Medline database - nothing was published about them, the other 66 did have publications but now they had to be evaluated, and after such an absurd and demagogic "argument" they were satisfied without the journalists present asking them anything the real problems they face from their ministries to those who are unable to find solutions. Apparently it does not matter that the health minister has accumulated problems - family doctor's strikes, waiting lists, pharmaceutical spending spiked, lack of health posts, inequality in care by communities, cancer mortality figures on the rise and a long etcetera- nor that the astronaut minister has been unable to do anything useful since he arrived at the position and achieve, for example, that our universities rise in the international quality classification -where none appear among the outstanding ones- or finish with the level of inbreeding and corruption in them. Both opted to splash in the puddle of "pseudoscience" without arguments to justify the waste of an advertising campaign that has been harshly criticized as electoralist and, above all, unfit for people who were supposed to be serious. And is that the claim that the validity of conventional medicine endorses the so-called "scientific method" is a fallacy as we have explained to bore.

Well, one of the therapies that the two ministers quickly tried to "demonize" and qualified as "pseudotherapy" -like the Medical College Organization- is Homeopathy, a discipline over which neither of them knows absolutely anything and yet does not figure already in that first list of 73. Supine ignorance that could have been resolved by simply reading the report with the title Scientifically proven how Homeopathy works! He published our magazine in nº 220 and can be read on our website: www.dsalud.com. Text that shows beyond doubt that homeopathic products act on cells and, therefore, on the tissues, organs and systems of the body.

And in fact this time we are going to make known a hospital in which all sufferers are successfully treated exclusively with Homeopathy, no matter how serious its pathology: the Aditya Homeopathic Hospital in Pune (India), which in 1994 created - and since then directs- Dr. Amarsinh Nikam.

We speak of a seven-floors private hospital that serves 24 hours seven days a week, has fully equipped rooms, a hundred beds, its own emergency unit (ICU) monitoring systems and an ambulance for the transfer of patients . And, of course, a medical team willing to attend to any situation at all times under the direction of Dr. Nikam.

Hospital that since its foundation 25 years ago has already treated according to its responsible to about one million people with all kinds of pathologies, either in outpatient department, either in the ICU, or staying admitted for some time. An average of 40,000 patients per year that have led to such surprising cases that should lead many doctors to reconsider what they think they know about homeopathy.

Cases like that of a man who came to the hospital in a wheelchair after undergoing two surgeries on the hips to which he had recommended a new surgery to proceed to the total replacement of both hips because only then could he walk normally again and treat Only with homeopathy walked with a walker two and a half months later. Or the one of a woman who arrived after suffering a severe heart attack and the doctors told her that she had to undergo an open heart surgery in the following 24 hours that only with homeopathy managed in just one month to reduce the blockages that caused the attack in more than 40% and there was not even a bypass. Or a 27-year-old man who came to the hospital with a diagnosis of severe calcified aortic stenosis who was recommended a valvular replacement and after following the homeopathic treatment so improved his mitral regurgitation that at two and a half months he no longer had dyspnea , nor palpitations, nor sensitivity to noise; According to reports, he achieved an improvement of 50% and was able to return to work little by little. Or that of a plump, 15-year-old blonde who arrived with her father pale, lethargic, with a tired face and great difficulty in breathing, diagnosed with global hypokinesia with dilated cardiomyopathy, mild mitral regurgitation and slight pulmonary hypertension that after only 20 days of homeopathic treatment improved considerably -he began to be able to sit comfortably as his drowning progressively diminished- and five years later he performed normally all his daily activities.

And we talk about documented real cases. Impossible? Absolutely not. The success is due only to the tenacity of a multifaceted character of conventional health training: doctor, entrepreneur, author, teacher, social worker, film producer and, according to those who know him well, a compassionate human being. Someone whose grandfather was an Ayurvedic doctor - Dr. Vitthal Nikam - and his homeopathic doctor father - Dr. Dattatraya Nikam - who after graduating from one of the many Homeopathy faculties in India and making a two-year internship in a large general hospital decided spend the next 14 years practicing in small rural settings, in district-level hospitals and in village clinics, something that taught him to face all kinds of emergencies and treat all kinds of diseases, including very serious pathological cases. Until sufficiently trained and with extensive experience decided to return to Pune and create the Aditya Homeopathic Hospital of which this time we are dealing.

VISIT TO PUNA

Well, a few months ago the Spanish doctor Antonio Gil Ortega, a member of the Association of Homeopathic Doctors of Andalusia, had the opportunity to visit that hospital for a few days returning, according to his own words, impressed by what he saw and lived, how the Homeopathy can cure at a very low cost and how much the homeopaths of our country - and in general of Europe - still have to learn. And about such a unique experience we have been able to talk with him.

Tell us first of all, are you a registered doctor or a therapist with training in Homeopathy?

Medical conventional collegiate. I graduated in 1982 and then trained in Mexico in Homeopathy - between 1984 and 1985 - using it professionally since then in my practice. Always in private medicine. And I will add that more than 30 years ago I neither consume nor recommend any medication, only homeopathic remedies.

 -How did you know Homeopathy?

I'm already in third career. In the faculty the first two years are taught the physiology of the body and how it works naturally. Explaining that the body defends itself thanks to its immune system against any aggression by having its own defense mechanisms and that inflammation, suppuration or fever are healing mechanisms. However, in the third year of Medicine you start to study the pathologies and they tell you that before an inflammatory process you have to give an anti-inflammatory drug. That is, we are taught not to respect the body's defense mechanism. I did not understand. It shocked me so much that I was about to leave the race.

Being however in fourth I suffered a process of chronic bronchitis. I took many antibiotics and many mucolytics and one day I suffered a feverish crisis with a lot of cough so I asked a partner to go to a nearby doctor to suggest a remedy and it turned out that he was a homeopathic doctor. So my friend came back with a tube that had a liquid inside, I followed the instructions and in less than an hour all the symptoms began to worsen! However, I endured and two or three hours later the symptoms began to diminish. The next day the symptoms had almost disappeared. I had no cough, no expectoration, and the fever had subsided.

I felt better and decided to go visit that doctor. I told him what had happened to me and he said he had given me Belladonna. I had no idea what it was. He added that it was only the beginning of the treatment and needed another remedy to prevent the recurrence of bronchitis for which he gave me a very long clinical history. It was more than two hours with questions whose meaning I did not understand. About my life, about my work ... Questions like what I felt when I was waiting for the bus. Then, with time, he would understand the meaning of that interrogation. The fact is that in the end he decided to give me a single remedy -Sulphur- and from that moment my recurrent bronchitis disappeared. It shocked me so much that at that moment I decided not to take more drugs ... and since then I have not taken a single one. That was my first experience with Homeopathy.

We have been told that you knew the Aditya Homeopathic Hospital of India in a whatsapp colleagues forum and decided to travel to meet him. Is it like that? What experiences did you have? Is Homeopathy well considered in that country?

It is a medical system recognized by the Law of the Central Council of Homeopathy of 1973; in fact it is the third most practiced medicine after conventional and Ayurveda. There are dozens of faculties and thousands of practitioners in the country. And it is not the only hospital in which it is used but it is the largest hospital and the one that uses only classical homeopathy. There are other hospitals of about 50 beds that use homeopathy but also allopathic medicine and invasive methods that are usually subsidized by different states. Aditya is however different because it is the largest private homeopathic hospital and it does not use allopathic drugs or practice any invasive technique.

Before going I knew that homeopathy allows to treat chronic problems that do not respond to allopathic treatments but now I know that it is possible to treat everything or almost everything.

What was the first impression on arrival?

I found something completely unexpected. It was a large building-seven floors-with security guards, an ambulance parked inside and a garden area around. Once in reception, I explained that I had arranged an appointment from Spain with Dr. Nikam and they accompanied me directly to his office, a large room in which I found him surrounded by 7 or 8 doctors who listened carefully to what he said. On the other side there were six or seven patients-each with a companion-who would attend one by one.

I introduced myself, I told them I was Spanish and a doctor and that I had been practicing homeopathy for 30 years. They welcomed me and gave me a wheelchair to sit next to Dr. Nikam. And there I was from four thirty in the afternoon until two in the morning with just a short break at nine o'clock at night. It was amazing. People with all sorts of different pathologies passed through, most of them for revisions that were carried out almost standing up. They were short and concise dialogues of the style of How are you ?, Teach me the arm or How is the ulcer? Some went only to thank him for curing them of diseases they had been told were "incurable." And that was the rhythm during all the days I was there.

A UNIQUE REMEDY, A SINGLE DOSE

What is the path of a patient when he arrives at the hospital?

Very similar to the one that is followed in any of our hospitals. There is a reception and a waiting room for 50 people. After signing up at the reception, patients go to a series of boxes. The first major difference with our hospital system is the evaluation of the patient's condition because there, following the unicist homeopathic practice, they are subjected to a detailed questionnaire in order to collect all their history.

In Unicist Homeopathy there are no standard protocols for each disease: the set of alterations of each person is studied -both at an organic and emotional level- and after collecting all the data and organic alterations the homeopath chooses a single remedy. The interview is therefore fundamental because it is the basis of the choice of the remedy with which the patient will be treated. And there are three or four questions about the symptoms that have led to consultation as it is done in conventional medicine. No. It is a conversation that can take hours and includes the symptoms but also the way of being of the patient, his character, what interests him most in life ... Questions that nobody makes in allopathic medicine to propose a clinical treatment.

However, there all treatments are based on that protocol that aims to know how the patient is mental, emotional, family, work and socially. Then he goes to one of the external consultations -one of which is attended by Dr. Nikam himself- and it is decided whether the person is admitted or not.

What type of pathologies are treated especially in that hospital?

I spoke with many patients admitted about their pathologies, the time they were there and how they were. And I was very surprised because some pathologies were quite critical, quite serious. On the website of the hospital there are cases of ulcerative colitis, aortic stenosis, dilated cardiomyopathies, hepatic cirrhosis with hepatic encephalopathy, acute respiratory distress syndrome with septicemia, chronic kidney disease, fibromyalgia, optic nerve atrophy, Wilson's disease, Irritable bowel and many more.

I remember a man who had rheumatoid arthritis; I was on the fifth floor and had been hospitalized for 10 or 12 days. I have treated cases of rheumatoid arthritis and I know that pain crises are very hard. Well, that man had 10 years with rheumatoid crisis, 10 years with conventional allopathic treatment and when I spoke with him he had only 10 days in the hospital. I asked him how he was and he told me that the inflammation was gradually going down, the movement was returning to the joints and his inner state was improving. And he had taken a single homeopathic remedy and only once. Nothing else!

A single dose of a single remedy?

Yes. Dr. Nikam is the most classic I have ever seen in Homeopathy. He uses the same power that Hanneman, the "father of Homeopathy", used throughout his life: at 30CH. Either a sharp box, a terminal box or a banal picture always gives the product at 30CH. Be the physical or mental pathology. And that is not done today either in Europe or in the rest of the world. Moreover, powers are being used from the 6D - which is decimal - to the maximum: five million. Although most of the powers used in the world are at 30CH, at 200CH, at 1.000CH and at 10.000CH. However, Dr. Nikam says that at 30CH everything is cured. Only the dilution changes in those remedies called nosodes that Hanneman said that they had to give them to the 200CH but the rest of the two thousand and peak medications that are commercialized today gives them to the 30CH.

And how does he apply the treatment?

After examining the patient's history and physical symptoms, Dr. Nikam chooses the remedy, gives it to the patient and waits to see his reaction; sometimes 10 minutes, in others more time. If you are certain that the remedy is right you can wait three or four days keeping that person with your symptoms knowing that once the body has started its healing mechanisms it needs more time for the symptoms to change. If you see that the evolution is not the expected study the case again and may change the remedy but the fact is that his great experience allows you to quickly grasp what is the rescue remedy. In Homeopathy we know that there are signs that the remedy is acting even if the symptomatology continues and he has enough experience in observing those physical and mental signs and a lot of intuition to know if the remedy is acting. Get the right remedy 90% of the time. It is not easy to find a person with that certainty of prescription.

Did you know any illustrative case?

Yes. Beyond the cases that went through consultation - in which the same procedure is always followed - I learned the case of a woman who fell off a ladder and hit her head. They took her to the hospital in a state of semi-conscience. Nikam interrupted his consultation and right there he attended her on the stretcher. He asked his relatives what had happened and they told him that after a great discussion he had fallen and hit his head. Then Nikam told one of his assistants to give him a homeopathic medicine called Natrum Sulfuricum and after a few minutes the person got up, asked what he was doing there and left with them. If you consult about Natrum Sulfuricum you will see that it is used in the treatment of brain injuries associated with the loss of consciousness and also in circumstances that imply an emotional impact. Usually we handle many homeopathic remedies but the reality is that of the two thousand strains that there are with 250 you can cure most of the human pathologies. Well, many homeopathic doctors use only 40 or 50 remedies of those 250 but he manages them all quite easily. It goes beyond the most usual medications that we usually handle. And it gives very few known remedies with great certainty.

HOMEOPATHY ALSO ATTENDS EMERGENCIES

Many may be surprised that in a homeopathic hospital they attend to emergencies. All types?

The hospital deals with all types of cases: acute pericarditis, cardiac myopathy, endocarditis, asthma attacks, myocardial infarctions, acute renal failure, acute appendicitis ... Any conceivable condition that requires immediate medical attention and admission to a hospital there is attend They also attend cases of multiple sclerosis crisis, trigeminal neuralgia, psoriasis, brain tumors, meningitis and many other conditions for which a patient may not find much help in a general hospital in India.

Note that Nikam has specialized in Cardiology. According to him he has declared more than 3,000 critical cardiac cases have been treated there successfully. Demonstrating the effectiveness of homeopathy not only on the basis of a feeling of improvement reported by the patient but also with the support of diagnostic tests and clinical parameters. And all cases are documented in English although the conversations are commonly kept in Hindi.

If it seems incredible that there is a homeopathic hospital it is unimaginable that it has an ICU.

Yes, but it has little to do with those of our hospitals. What characterizes your ICU is simplicity. It is a room in which the most critical patients remain monitored but no punctures or transfusions of intravenous or blood saline are used. Nor other elements that people take for granted in an ICU of our hospitals. Oxygen is used but not invasively, patients are not intubated. And that does not mean they are "primitive." They simply take advantage of some state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to understand the pathology and progress of the disease.

One of the devices that the hospital has is a cardiac mapping machine that gives a lot of information about the entire circulatory system and allows the creation of electroanatomical maps of the heart -not only at the electrocardiographic level- without the need for invasive treatment, which avoids insert catheters through the artery. They can even watch patients with video cameras to follow their symptoms and observe other peculiarities of their behavior that may not be evident in a clinical session. Neither does surgery. There pathologies that would require a surgical intervention here with some urgency they handle them with Homeopathy.

As which?

As an acute appendicitis or an intestinal obstruction, pathologies that at the moment we think we must intervene because there is a great risk of peritonitis or lead to septicemia. They handle them quite effectively. They also treat strokes and sometimes have come sick in coma derived from other hospitals to some of which they have been able to get ahead.

How is it possible to remove a patient from the coma if the basis of all treatment is the choice of a chosen remedy after a careful examination of the history that is elaborated with the patient?

In cases of coma, what Dr Nikam does is what we would do when we consider that there is nothing to do: physically observe the patient and then ask relatives to give him information about his condition. Ask them all the questions they would ask the patient if they were conscious. About his way of being, his character, what interests him the most in life. There is even talk with the spouse - the wife or the husband - and the children asking about the physical, personal and private intimacies of the patient. And with all that information you get the right homeopathic remedy.

We do not have the means to treat a patient in a coma like that. They do not leave us. Remember that last December, in a similar case, a court in Madrid denied a parent's request that his son, who had been diagnosed with brain death, be injected with three homeopathic preparations and vitamin C. His doctors They had refused to do so. The young man finally died. In Dr. Nikam's hospital, they would not have refused, although that does not mean that they would have gone ahead, but it is to be admired the courage they show there to confront these cases and admit them to their hospital.

GO : THEY ARE WAITING

Then there are no protocols to treat patients depending on the "disease" they suffer.

Not. For them, the case of each patient is different, although the symptoms may be similar. Each one has its own biopathography that makes it different and, therefore, makes the remedy different to treat it.

Do they also treat cancer patients?

Yes. I know that cancer cases are also treated, some of them complicated. I have recorded in my memory the case of a patient with a carcinoma of the tongue who had been in the hospital for a short time after having been operated on, irradiated and I think treated with chemo. The patient told me that since he had begun to be treated in the homeopathic hospital the deformation of his face was improving and returning to his being.

There, during the time I was there, he also happened to attend a Japanese friend with whom I met in Puna. He had been suffering from intense pains in his mouth for three or four days and could not eat. They thought that the veil of the palate had burned. A friend then recommended Dr. Nickam's hospital and he treated it as a case of urgency. For acute symptoms he gave a remedy and in a matter of 10 minutes the pain had subsided. She then completed her history and recommended that she go to a hospital to be diagnosed. And it turned out that it had not been burned but had a tumor of 3 or 4 cm that in the end, after the diagnosis, was benign. He would return days later with the diagnosis, the doctor gave him a treatment to follow with the same remedy and today he continues his improvement.

I also remember a case from 2002 about which I read. A patient diagnosed with chondroid chordoma-a brain tumor-had been operated on but the tumor had reappeared. So again they recommended surgery but in view of the nature of the tumor they stopped the allopathic treatments. Well, in March of 2004, Dr. Nikam began to see him and his symptoms began to diminish. Improved double vision and gait when walking. And the frequent headache attacks also disappeared. In four or five months he recovered completely from paralysis and the patient regained strength in the extremities.

Being a private hospital, what type of patients are treated in it?

It is true that the hospital is private and quite prosperous. It is complete and has a waiting list. Each person who enters there to spend consultation has to pay 1,500 rupees previously, that is, about 20 euros. In India most people can pay that amount but if someone can not really do it based on their income they will be equally cared for.

The luxury room of the hospital could be paid by any middle class person in Spain and a middle class a little higher in India. It is a single room with bed, telephone, television, air conditioning, bed for companion, sofa with table and integrated bathroom.

There are also special rooms that are also individually and with their own bathroom. The semispeciales have four beds and common bathroom but it is easy and easy to be hospitalized in them and pay the stays for days. And finally, there are 10 beds in the general pavilion.

People of all types and levels come to the hospital. Very simple people who have not left their village for most of their lives for which it is a great effort to raise money and go to a hospital but also people of high economic and intellectual power. Including doctors who take their families there, politicians, ministers, health inspectors ... I myself have taken photos with some of the authorities that support the hospital. All state health supports it even if it is private. People trust him to the point that many hospitals send patients when they can not do anything for them

Allow me one last question: is Dr. Nikam aware of the controversy that is spreading in the West -not only in Spain- about the use of Homeopathy?

Neither in India does Homeopathy escape criticism. They are aware of the great ignorance of those who say that homeopathy is not "scientific". There lives a living test every day of everything that can be done. They are giving such an example that none of the arguments against them hold up against the experience of Dr Nickam and his hospital.

By the way, on the occasion of this interview I asked them if they would be willing to receive a Spanish delegation from the Collegiate Medical Organization and they told me that all they have to do is tell them the dates. They encourage all the members of the so-called observatory of pseudoscience and the WTO leaders to go there, visit the hospital, see how it works for 24 hours or a week, talk to doctors and patients and then draw their own conclusions. They are sure that if they do, the discussion will be over. In fact Dr. Nickam is willing to expand his knowledge outside of India, but you have to go to Puna because the physical limitations he suffers after suffering a traffic accident do not allow him long trips, although they do not prevent him from devoting all his time to hospital and its patients, whom it personally attends. But I am sure you will be happy to explain to the representatives of the Spanish Network of Health Technology Assessment Agencies and Presentations of the National Health System the effectiveness of Homeopathy. For my part, I will return shortly to Puna to carry out a six-month residency with him later, perhaps together with some colleagues, to try to open a small clinic of that type in Seville.
