It is like cricket becoming each and every sport, and what happens in such conditions, we all know. I deeply feel that it is our first and foremost national duty to honor, recognize and promote alternate medicine system for the honorable living and life of the masses. Recognizing, honoring and giving due recognition to affordable medicine system is like providing free medicine to the people. It is like providing a complete amalgamated medicine system too. It is like giving freedom to the people to adopt the medicine system which best suits to them.

Students and patients from all over the country

I suffered a massive heart attack on 30-5-2008. I was treated in Hamidia hospital. Angiography after a bed rest of two weeks was suggested. I shifted to Mumbai and angiography was done. There was a complete blockage in LAD artery. Ejection fraction was reduced to 35 percent. The tissues in mid and septum region were dead. There was 75 percent akinesia in upper region and 25 percent in lower. Dilatation and some other related problems have also arisen.

Whether angiography is going to be useful or not, an MRI was done to ascertain that. Finally, it was almost a common opinion that angioplasty was of no immediate use, and the patient should know that he is now doomed to live with this reduced ejection fraction. Had heard about Dr.Nikam from a friend, have seen his vigorous campaigns in favour of homoeopathy in Bhopal and have seen various news items of his achievements in seminars held at Lucknow, Hyderabad and Banglore. I decided to see him regarding treatment. And I am happy that natural bypass system is being energized well.

I stayed in the hospital for over a month. It was an experience to talk to the patients. In the 80 bed hospital almost each and every patient suffered from some chronic or acute disease. The patients were from all over the country. Sarkar from Siligudi (Assam) , Anshika from Sitapur (U.P.) , Bindra from Punjab, Mishra from Lucknow, Kanhade from Jalana( Maharashtra), Battali from Bijapur ( Karnataka) and myself from Bhopal ( Madhya Pradesh). Two patients were from Gulf countries.

Patients were for kidney treatment, for heart treatment, for HIV treatment, for retina or nerve treatments, for removal of blockages in the brain. Almost every major and critical disease was being analyzed and treated. Many a diseases had no convincing answers in allopathic system or if they had, then the cost of treatment was enormous. And almost everyone was referred by some doctor of repute-16 years Anshika Verma had come from Sitapur. She had lost her eyesight in both the eyes. Sitapur has one of the biggest eye hospitals in the country. When she did not get any relief a doctor from there referred her to go to Pimpri. And after third or fourth day of treatment, vision came back in her right eye and by the end of the week, she started reading newspapers.

Acute and Chronic diseases cured

Govind More, a wealthy farmer from Nasik came to Pimpri directly after initial treatments after the heart attack. His brother has been treated here successfully. In fact patients from many rural areas of Maharashtra come in flock. Dr. Nikam has campaigned in these areas about the benefits of homoeopathy, had held camps there, and is in live contact with the rural masses with passion.

In each and every area there are many and many patients, who have got benefited, and remember Dr.Nikam as a gifted doctor. Many of them had lost hope that they will ever be treated. But when they found heart attack, or kidney or HIV being treated permanently for an affordable sum of 8 to 10 thousand rupees, they found a new life. No wonder, there are many patients who see some kind of a miracle.

I was thrilled to see a very famous heart surgeon of Pune coming for treatment f his ailment to Dr. Nikam. The family of a very famous doctor from the cantonment also did the same. On enquiry, I was told that there are hundreds of such cases, when persons of repute from competitive fields preferred their treatment here, but did not reveal this to the public. I have used the term competitive field here knowingly. Dr.Nikam’s hospital is really giving a tough competition to super speciality hospitals even in the treatment of acute pathological emergency cases.

This is a miracle, but has happened by a single minded devotion of Dr. Nikam. From early noon to the dawn of the next day, he is either conferring with the patients or teaching the future doctors or is doing some research work or is updating himself. He is an extremely hard teacher. The work schedule is of 18 hours for his students and for him as well. Each year he is preparing almost around 400 students.

One can see a Pooja shah from Gujarat, or Dr. Jitendra Verma from U.P., or Dr. R.S. Yadav from Bihar,, or Dr. Ashok Shrivastava from Madhya Pradesh, or Dr. Roopam from Jharkhand, or Dr. Raju from Andhra, or Dr. Sagar Patil from Karnatak getting their training here. Practicing, teaching, and making homoeopathy reach the poorest of the poor; to the common multitude is a common mission here. Individual integrity has generated and regenerated into a beaming mission.

Behind the success lies hardship, confidence & knowledge

Every case in the hospital is properly recorded, case histories are maintained, follow-ups are carefully checked-out, and scientific means are adopted to measure the progress. Preparation of the case history for seminars is now a daily routine. Credibility, transparency and scientific acceptability are major criteria of success.

The Father and grandfather of Dr. Nikam were doctors. And so are the doctors in fourth generation also. He prescribes the medicines homoeopathically but in deep it is the wider philosophical spectrum which sums up the causes of the disease and suggests the remedy. The very strong base of knowledge has given him the confidence that no one else in the country even dared to implement.

When he found that he is often called to I.C.U.s of different allopathic hospitals to treat critical pathological cases, then the immediate idea that struck his mind was to open homoeopathic hospital, treat such cases there itself, and let the credit of homoeopathic system accumulate. That is the spirit, daring, and persona of Dr. Nikam and his Aditya Homoeopathic Hospital. Imagine, without any hesitation he accepted the role of Indian team doctor in international tournament of handicapped persons conducted in Brisbane, Australia way back in 1991. As a challenge and as a responsibility, the way he is treating leprosy patients he is gaining all around acclaim.

A system affordable for the poor : A mission to help them

Homoeopathic medicines are cost effective, prevents surgery of patients in indicated cases. Cost of treatment for near about all the diseases be it Cancer / Heart Attack / D.M. / B.P. is same.

One can see continuous preparations for rural camps, or veterinary camps, or for the camps of sports person. One can always listen about the sickle cell camps in Adivasi Areas or about the camps for pilgrims, or for disaster affected people. Dr. Nikam always prescribes one and only medicine for the patient. And that too of a mild potency of thirty. That is the level of command and level of confidence. It’s not only that patients are always being treated directly-many and many a times case histories are prepared on phone, or seeing the videos of the condition of the patient, and remedies are suggested. In my stay of a month, I had seen many patients being treated being treated very effectively.

Honouring Dr. Nikam with Padmashree will honour homoeopathy. Will really help the common multitude to find a medicine system honourably in its reach, and enhance the search of alternative medicine system. It is the need of the hour.
